Vacant Space Manager, London (with some UK travel), £65k.

WSS Associates is working on behalf of one of the largest property owners in the UK to help source a Vacant Space Manager to help oversee the vacant space handback scheme. Working closely with the Principle Vacant Space manager, you will take an active role in managing all the vacant space within the whole portfolio with the aim being to create a more financially efficient portfolio currently and for the future.

Within this role, you will be responsible for ensuring all existing processes that are in place for dealing with vacant space are kept up to date and accepted by all departments. You will oversee the process of dealing with notices being served to ensure they're acted upon in the timeliest manor. A strong background in negotiating is essential.


  • You will have an active input in the preparation and maintenance of the whole process for handing back vacant property so all records must be kept up to date, all strategies agreed and the process understood by all parties involved.
  • You will work closely with the property managers, UK wide, on how the management, disposal and potential letting of all vacant space within their specific portfolio, can be dealt with and ensuring all due diligence is done.
  • This role will require you to work closely with the Strategic Estates Team to ensure all vacant space and associated activity with it is in line with agreed strategies and overseeing the whole process.

Required Qualifications, Experience and Qualities:

  • This role requires you to either be a Chartered Surveyor or studying to become chartered.
  • A background overseeing/being involved in transactions and strong negotiating skills.
  • You must be experienced in presenting to senior colleagues and be comfortable in a market/client facing environment as this role will require regular engagement both internally and externally.
  • A strong data/technical background is advantageous but not essential. Part of this role will include researching market trends to keep up to date with what is happening outside of the organisation to help ensure the processes you're implementing are for the best for the whole organisation.
